AIRBAG Code of Conduct - 2020

Safety, Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Bullying

AIRBAG is committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive and flexible workplace environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and bullying. We do not tolerate or condone any such form of behaviour, anywhere in our workplace.

This Code of Conduct outlines expected standards of behaviour by all workers at AIRBAG. A breach of this Code of Conduct may lead to disciplinary action, including the termination of your contract with AIRBAG. If AIRBAG considers the breach to be of a criminal nature, AIRBAG may report the matter to the police.

Please read carefully.

Who is this for?

All workers must comply with this Code of Conduct. For the purposes of this Code of Conduct, workers include, but are not limited to:

  • The Company Owners;

  • Leadership and Management Personnel (Executive Producers, Producers etc);

  • The Directors we represent;

  • Staff;

  • All of our Freelance Crew;

  • Full-time, part-time, seasonal and casual employees;

  • Job candidates, including people auditioning for roles;

  • Student placements, apprentices and work experience placements;

  • Contractors, sub-contractors and secondees; and

  • Volunteers or anyone undertaking unpaid work (eg vocational placements)

This Code of Conduct applies to all workers while:

  • At work - such as in the office, on set or location, or during work related travel;

  • At work-related environments such as Christmas parties, after parties, conferences;

  • Industry events and work away from home; and

  • Outside of work where there is a connection to the workplace - such as social media.

If you are working in or around AIRBAG in any capacity, then this document applies to you.

Standards of Behaviour

AIRBAG’s workers are responsible for promoting a safe, respectful, inclusive and flexible workplace environment by:

  • Treating all workers with dignity, courtesy and respect;

  • Respecting cultural, ethnic, religious, gender and sexual orientation differences;

  • Behaving in a professional, fair and courteous manner at all times;

  • Ensuring the physical and mental safety of themselves and their coworkers;

  • Supporting  your coworkers by intervening (if safe for you to do so) to prevent or curtail a breach of this Code of Conduct;

  • Promptly reporting any breaches of this Code of Conduct, whether it is against you or another person, to one of the Executive Producers, the Managing Director or ones of the Company Owners;

  • Maintaining confidentiality when complaints are made and/or under investigation; and

  • Abiding by all applicable laws and regulations.

Unacceptable Behaviour

AIRBAG’s workers MUST NOT:

  • Abuse or threaten to abuse (verbally, physically or in writing) another person;

  • Physically or sexually assault another person;

  • Through action, or inaction, allow a co-worker to be placed at risk of physical harm;

  • Discriminate against or treat someone less favourably because of their race, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability or other personal characteristics;

  • Intimidate, threaten or harass another person;

  • Sexually harass another person with unwanted, unwelcome or uninvited behaviour or contact;

  • Bully, isolate, humiliate or otherwise demean another person;

  • Victimise, unjustly treat or threaten someone because they have raised a complaint or are a witness in an investigation; or

  • Behave illegally, improperly or unethically.

Code of Practice

This document should be read in conjunction with AIRBAG’s Workplace Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Bullying Policy.

AIRBAG is a voluntary adherent to the Screen Industry Code of Practice - Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Bullying. We take our commitment to a safe workplace very seriously.
